The Story of a Hypnotist Who Argued that Meditation and Hypnosis are the Same
The story of a man and I began on a hot summer day while sitting in my meditation center. I was practicing my meditation when a man approached me. He asked me if meditation and hypnosis are the same. He caught me by surprise. I knew that they were completely different practices.
I started to explain to him the difference between the two, but he would not listen. He was a hypnotist, adamant that meditation and hypnosis were the same.
Hypnosis and meditation are like oil and water – they don’t mix.
The moon is full, Yet I remain in meditation, Seeking the divine.
I could see that this man was stuck in his beliefs, so I decided to show him the difference between the two practices. I asked him to close his eyes and relax so that I could awaken his kundalini with my touch.
I touched his root chakra. With my meditative power, I felt his kundalini energy. I raised it with my touch. His body starts to vibrate with subtle energy. He felt the gentle tingling sensation of the life force at Ajna within a few minutes.
He was mesmerized by what he had experienced when he opened his eyes. He told me that he had never felt anything like this before. He saw the difference between hypnosis and meditation.
My thoughts find focus, In the stillness of meditation, Finding inner peace.
The man thanked me for showing him the difference between the two practices, and he went. I was happy to show the man the power of meditation. It was my blessing to help him reach a higher level of consciousness.
