Happy Women’s Day.
I recall the message of Sri Vethathiri Maharishi on World Women’s day on 8 March 2016
Watch the video.
Why is this message still relevant?
20% American Government is Women even after 95 years since women got their voting rights.
Women are still afraid of demanding their rights.
In one of the questions Sunny Leone was asked about pay disparity in Bollywood. The interviewer asked “Do you think women aren’t as comfortable when it comes to demanding their rights at the work place, including their pay package?
To which Sunny gave a bold and straight-forward reply.
She said, “I think women generally speak with too much emotion. If you make it professional, choose your words wisely, people will take you more seriously. You have to nurture that confidence to demand what you deserve. What’s the worse that’s going to happen? They might say no. It’s not going to hurt you. Unless you don’t ask, you are not going to get it. If you are in business, it’s completely fine for a woman to be (excuse my language) a bitch! Women should get equal pay.”
If Sunny Leone can say it, you can imagine how other women must feel it.
Air India operates the longest flight of an all women crew for the first time in the history of the aviation industry.
The “historic” New Delhi-San Francisco flight would have 14 crew members and four pilots, all of whom will be women. The flight would leave on March 6 and return on March 8.
Besides, the national carrier today said it would be operate over 20 all-women crew flights in domestic routes on March 8 — the International Women’s day.
Air India was the first carrier in the world to operate an all-women crew in 1985.
Shame on aviation industry! Should they take so long to celebrate women’s service the industry?
UN released statistics on problems women face even after 100 years of Women’s Day Celebration started by a bunch of brave women in New York. Read the infographic below.
Make your own conclusions.
What can we do to make women’s life better, my friend, on this planet?
Don’t we agree that if women are not made to feel safer, healthier and stronger, the whole mankind runs the risk of living in a doomed world?
Give me a reason to celebrate World Women’s Day. I want to celebrate it every day of the year. Why not? So, please give me 366 reasons (remember 2016 is a leap year!)
